Lofthouse Sugar Cookies

This is the best sugar cookie recipe and so easy to make because you don't need to roll out and cut the dough - just scoop into balls and bake!

Cookie Dough Ingredients

1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
a pinch of love

1. In a large bowl combine sour cream, sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla; mix well. 
2. In a smaller bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and a pinch of love.
3. Alternate adding the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing very gently, just until incorporated.
4. Using a 1 Tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop out dough then roll into a ball and place on cookie sheet.
5. With the flat bottom of a drinking glass dipped in flour, slightly flatten each cookie.
6. Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes. 
7. Transfer to cooling rack.  Makes 4 dozen

Butter Cream Frosting

4 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco

1. Cream together butter and shortening in mixer with paddle attachment on medium for about 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar and beat until smooth, Add another 1/2 cup and beat.
 Add vanilla and food coloring,  mix. Gradually add the remaining 3 cups of powdered sugar and milk, continue to mix on medium. Store the remainder in a container
